Nungwi

Excursion to the town of Nungwi with a visit to the fish market, the shipyard where they build and repair boats and boats, the turtle aquarium and we will see the sunset from a boat (includes food at a local restaurant).

Stone Town *

Visit the stone town that shows a rich cultural mix, walk through a beautiful maze of alleys. Declared a World Heritage Site in 2000.

Spice tour *

Visit to a farm or plantation of trees and plants that are grown on the island and that give fruit to the well-known spices.

Prison Island and Nakupenda Beach *

Traveling by boat to Changuu Island also known as Kibandiko to visit the prison that was used as a prison for rebellious slaves in 1860 and later (1893) the British Prime Minister of Zanzibar built a prison complex that later became a center quarantine for yellow fever patients. We will visit one of its greatest attractions, the sanctuary of giant tortoises imported from Seychelles at the end of the 19th century. You will have the option to snorkel in an old coal mine and marvel at its reefs. We will return by boat to Nakupenda beach where a beautiful white sandbank and delicious food (fish and tropical fruits) await us.

* You have the option of doing a full day tour: Stone Town + prison island and Nakupenda beach + spice tour (includes roundtrip taxi, motor boat, fruit, water and food at a local restaurant), (Diving equipment not included but possibility of reserving it in advance indicating shoe size for the fins).

Fukuchani Caves and Ruins

Located on the road from Nungwi to Stone Town, option to take the tour by bike (1h and 30 minutes with rest stops) or daladala or taxi (20 minutes), visit the Portuguese ruins, caves where you can bathe, town and house of Kombo (the local guide) and visit the school. (The money for this excursion goes to the Fukuchani community, especially to the school that is on the road), (tour in daladala or by bike with fruit included).

Red Colobus Monkey in Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park

Guided tour (excursion of 2 hours approx.) Through the lush tropical forest to the mangroves of the coast crossing wooden walkways.

Start in the Jozani forest

2512 hectare area located in the only National Park in Zanzibar. This is the last stronghold of tropical forest on the island, it was declared a national reserve in 1960 to protect it from deforestation focused on creating fields for agriculture.

There is a great biodiversity of flora (red mahogany, oil and raffia palm trees, sycamores, ferns …) and fauna (more than 40 species of native birds, squirrels, snakes, chameleons, geckos, red colobus monkeys, blue monkeys …).

It is the only place in the world where you can see the red colobus monkey (in danger of extinction) in its natural habitat.

Tour with the Dolphins

Departing from the beach of Kizimkazi (south of the island), we will get on a boat and we will enter the waters of the Indian Ocean. We will see dolphins swimming freely in and playing among the waves a few meters from the shore, we will see if they invite us to dive with them.

Did you know that Zanzibar is one of the few places in the world where you can swim with dolphins in the wild?

We will return to the mainland, we will eat in the sun on the beach and we will have 2 hours of free time to rest or see this beautiful fishing village.

Mnemba Island

Departure from various points: Nungwi, Matenmwe, Pwani, Kiwengwa, Stone Town … trip in the typical Zanzibar boat called Dhow  sailing one of the round trips with its characteristic sail, snorkeling around Mnemba island, fish food with rice and tropical fruits. (including Dhow, fish and rice food, fruit and water, snorkel equipment reserve in advance indicating shoe size for the fins)

Safari Blue

Departure from Fumba to the south-east of the island of Unguja, arrival by taxi to the boarding area, sail with the boat to a sandbar in the middle of the Indian Ocean where you can snorkel and enjoy a breakfast of fresh fruit. Boat trip to the “Blue Lagoon”: lagoon surrounded by mangroves, transfer to Kwale Island where we will visit the giant Baobab (the oldest in the area) and eat fresh seafood. (Includes roundtrip taxi, boat, seafood meal, water)
