  • What is the best Airport flying into Tanzania?

Tanzania has three international airports; Kilimanjaro International Airport, Dar es Salaam’s Julius Nyerere International Airport, and Zanzibar Abeid Amani Karume International Airport.

  • Kilimanjaro International Airport is the most common entry point, as it is nearest to the major travel destinations and Arusha, gateway to Tanzania’s major tourist destinations such as Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Mount Kilimanjaro, etc.
  • Dar es Salaam’s Julius Nyerere International Airport This is in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s center business city, and closest to the southern circuit travel destinations such as Saadani, Mikumi, Ruaha National Parks, and Selous Game Reserve, etc.
  • Zanzibar Abeid Amani Karume International Airport This will take you straight to Zanzibar Island and mostly advised to book your exit to Tanzania flights from Zanzibar.
  • So what is the best Airport to land in Tanzania? This depends on the type of Safari you’ve booked the most popular route or what we advise mostly you should take is if you’re having a wildlife Safari + beach holiday, we advise you to take Kilimanjaro Airport then take a Safari to the Serengeti and other northern circuit destinations and then transfer to Zanzibar via Serengeti/Arusha Airport on a domestic flight to Zanzibar for a beach holiday then exit Tanzania via Zanzibar Abeid Amani Karume International Airport or Dar es Salaam’s Julius Nyerere International Airport depending on your next destination flight.
  • You are also welcome to arrive at any airport at your convenience cause once you’re in the country, a good domestic flight network connects the major travel routes, and there is an ever-improving road network for ground travel.
