11 Days Honeymoon Safari In Tanzania
Day 1. Arrival Kilimanjaro Airport
Jambo! Karibu Tanzania!
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, we will meet personally with our Sensation of Africa guide who will take us to the Katambuga House accommodation in Arusha
Welcome to Tanzania! After the long flight, you can now relax in your accommodation.
Day 2. Arusha – Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, we will depart for our first day of safari and drive to Tarangire National Park for a day full of adventure. This park is dominated by the perennial Tarangire River and is characterized by its giant baobab trees that spread out, winding their branches in the blue sky. Tarangire’s sprawling plains, open woodland, riverine forest, and water sources are home to a real wealth of wildlife – four of the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo), numerous smaller predators and herbivores, and hundreds of types of birds!
After the route, we will go to the accommodation with good views and located in a very natural environment, where to dine and spend the night, the Maramboi Tented Camp.
Day 3. Lake Manyara National Park/ Mto wa Mbu town
After breakfast, we will drive to Lake Manyara National Park.
The Park stretches along the base of the 600-meter-high Rift Valley escarpment. Lake Manyara covers 2/3 of the park. Incredibly, the other 1/3 of the park is home to a wide variety of animals, which are sustained by an open savanna meadow with rocky outcrops, swamps, and acacia forests. Although the park is famous for its tree-climbing lions, there is a wide variety of birds, including flamingos and pelicans that can be seen in Salt Lake. Other animals that we can find here are: buffaloes, zebras, hippos, giraffes, elephants, and carnivores such as lions and leopards can also be observed.
After the tour, we will visit Mto wa Mbu town for local lunch where you will have a chance to test more than 15 food types and you will also test local brews. Take a rest then after going for a local tour at the red banana farms, rice plantations, and local markets.
Dinner and Overnight at Ngorongoro Crater Lodge
Day 4. Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, we will descend to the Ngorongoro Crater and descend to this World Heritage site and the 8th Wonder of the World: The Ngorongoro Crater.
The crater is the largest intact caldera in the world and one of the most beautiful wildlife havens in the world. It is a unique biosphere that has remained virtually unchanged since the beginning of time. More than 25,000 large mammals roam the cratered plains, lakes, and forests.
Enjoy the safari and the ascent to the accommodation Ngorongoro Crater Lodge with beautiful views of the famous crater while you enjoy the sunset before dinner.
Day 5: Ngorongoro – Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, we will head to the famous Serengeti National Park.
Enjoying panoramic views as we make our way through the Ngorongoro highlands We will stop at a Maasai “Boma” (house), where we will have the opportunity to join in their traditional dances. They will give us an explanation about how they live on this earth together with dangerous wild animals without interference, how they educate their children, and more about their culture.
Then we will go to the Serengeti National Park, we will enjoy the route to accommodation at the Heritage Luxury Tented Camp.
Day 6: Serengeti National Park
The Serengeti National Park is the most important national park in Africa for which it has received many awards.
This Park has more than 14000 km², during the morning we will explore it from the center to the southwest (or northeast), and then we will return to the accommodation to have lunch and rest in the hottest hours and then continue the route.
We will be able to see cheetahs hunting in the plains, lions in herds, hippos in and out of “the pools”, crocodiles sunbathing on the riverbanks … while leopards and rhinos can hardly be seen in this area, it is always a question of luck.
The sunset in Serengeti will add to the romance of the evening. You will enjoy dinner and accommodation at the Heritage Luxury Tented Camp.
Day 7. Serengeti – Zanzibar
Early in the morning, you can choose between taking a 4 × 4 tour or enjoying a Balloon Safari (at extra cost) to see this incredible place from a bird’s eye view and a fantastic champagne breakfast on the Serengeti plains.
At dawn, we can find animals grazing in the beautiful early morning light and predators can still be busy hunting.
Then we will return to the accommodation to prepare the luggage and pick up the lunch to continue with the route in the direction of the Serengeti Air Strip, ready to take off for Zanzibar to relax on its white-sand beaches.
Day 8 – 10. Zanzibar
Wake up in Zanzibar, after breakfast relaxes in the sun, on the white sand beaches of Zanzibar eat fresh seafood or go out for activities or day tours. There is a variety of activities available including plenty of wet-and-wild water sports, dhow boat cruises, discovering the ocean floor by snorkeling or diving, spice tours, trips to Stone Town and Prison Island, and excursions into the beautiful Jozani Forest. And of course, you can enjoy a little sunbathing, during these final few days of your honeymoon. Day 11. Depart Zanzibar
After breakfast enjoys relaxing at your hotel or beach before transferring to Zanzibar Airport and departing back home/next destination end of the Safari. This depends on your flight schedule.
