Trip Overview
Embark on an 8-day safari to witness the magic of the Great Wildebeest Migration in the Serengeti, an awe-inspiring natural event that takes place between June and September when millions of wildebeest cross the plains in search of fresh pastures, facing the challenges of the savanna while being followed by predators. Additionally, discover Tanzania’s most spectacular landscapes and iconic wildlife in Tarangire, Lake Eyasi, Serengeti, and the Ngorongoro Crater. Get ready for a unique experience that will connect you with the purest essence of nature.
Tarangire welcomes you with its majestic baobabs and large herds of elephants, while giraffes, zebras, and predators roam its captivating landscapes.
Lake Eyasi, where you will encounter the ancestral traditions of the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes and enjoy unique landscapes in a fascinating cultural setting.
Serengeti National Park, where you will witness the thrill of the Great Migration, hear lions roar at dawn, watch cheetahs hunt, and see elephants crossing the endless plains under clear skies.
Ngorongoro: Conclude your safari in the Ngorongoro Crater, considered the eighth wonder of the world—a paradise filled with rhinos, hippos, and flamingos in its lagoons.

Safari Map
Day-by-Day Itinerary | Arusha Option.
After breakfast, we will head to Tarangire National Park, known for having the highest concentration of elephants in Africa. Upon entering through the main gate, we will begin the safari, where we can observe elephants, antelopes, lions, zebras, and many other animals, all in a setting surrounded by majestic baobab trees. We will have lunch in the picnic area and, at sunset, transfer to Karatu to enjoy dinner and spend the night.
This morning, we will visit the two native tribes of this area at Lake Eyasi. This visit will allow us to meet two tribes that have established a trading relationship with each other. The Datoga craft metal arrowheads that the Hadzabe use to hunt small antelopes and other animals for food, in exchange for a portion of the meat they obtain. They are a remarkable example of the coexistence between wildlife and humans living in balance in the 21st century. With them, you will learn how to make fire and even have the opportunity to accompany them on a hunt. After the visit, we will head to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
After breakfast, we begin our journey to Serengeti National Park, where we will start the safari by exploring the vast plains of the park, home to the famous wildebeest migration and an incredible variety of wildlife. During the day, we will have the opportunity to observe lions, elephants, zebras, and gazelles in their natural habitat, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. At sunset, we will settle into our camp or lodge to enjoy dinner under the stars.
We will wake up early in the morning to begin the safari from the heart of the Serengeti, and then head north, where we will take an afternoon tour. Hopefully, we will witness the spectacular wildebeest crossing through the river. We will end the day with dinner and accommodation at Heritage Mobile Tented Camp or a similar camp.
In the morning, we will head to the river, a place where thousands of wildebeest and zebras remain on high alert, cautiously watching the predators lurking nearby. Meanwhile, powerful crocodiles slowly emerge from the waters, their snouts breaking the surface of the Mara River, ready to hunt. We will witness the tense stillness of this natural spectacle, a unique experience that will make us feel immersed in one of the most magical journeys of wildlife. As night falls, we will enjoy a delicious dinner and spend the night in the comfort of Heritage Mobile Tented Camp or a similar camp.
On our fourth day of safari in Serengeti, we will explore the central and eastern regions of the park, known for their abundant wildlife, especially during the migration. We will have the chance to spot lions, leopards, giraffes, and large herds of wildebeest and zebras. Additionally, we offer the option of a hot air balloon ride at sunrise, providing a unique panoramic view of the vast plains and its wildlife. After the flight, we will continue with the ground safari, ending the day at the camp or lodge.
After breakfast, we will depart with a picnic lunch towards the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon arrival, we will descend into the crater, known as the "Garden of Eden." We will enjoy a safari at the crater floor, home to the rare black rhino and the Big Five. Later, we will have lunch in the picnic area and then continue the safari towards the main exit. Afterward, we will return to Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.
Upon leaving the accommodation in Karatu, we will return to Arusha, but we will make a stop along the way to visit the African Gallery, a unique place where the iconic Eboni tree is located. There, we will have the opportunity to explore and appreciate local art while enjoying the surrounding natural beauty. After this stop, we will continue our journey to Arusha, where you can choose to spend a few days relaxing on the paradisiacal beaches of Zanzibar or take your flight back home.

It was a last moments decision to travel to Tanzania and Zanzibar. From the first moment we talked with my guide, John, and the way he handled everything, I knew I can trust him and be sure of everything. We plan the whole trip together, cutting and adding places/activities and John was always ready to make everything possible, until the final program. Unfortunately it was a bit of a budget safari, but planned with care and everything went as perfect as it could be. I owe a big thanks to John for this trip, not only for making it possible and as good as it could be, but also for being such a very good company. Thank you John and Sensation of Africa! you have my respect and of course I highly recommend you to all who want to visit Africa and plan a safari. Hope all the best for you!
